My name is Rachel (Cassano) Cory, and I am currently a Dance Educator and Choreographer at Columbus Arts & Technology Academy as well as a Dance Instructor and award-winning Choreographer at Inspire Dance and Tumble.
I create my own curriculum for grades K-12 and follow state of Ohio standards in a fun and engaging way. Being an educator has made me dive deeper into my vast pre-existing knowledge of dance to come up with ways to connect what students are learning in school to this incredible art form. In addition to incorporating common core subjects with dance, I also organize performance nights and choreograph meaningful pieces of art. I enjoy using my creative skills to tell a story and evoke emotions through dance. I live for the challenge of logistically and artistically planning out a routine. Dance has a special place in my heart and it has been a consistent part of my life since I was three years old.
In addition to teaching/choreographing dance, I have appeared in movies, commercials, musical theater shows, off-Broadway shows and danced on professional dance teams. I was also crowned Mrs. Columbus 2018 and competed at the Mrs. Ohio America Pageant as well as crowned Miss London and competed at Miss Ohio U.S.A. Before I started teaching dance full-time, my previous career was in the PR/Communication/Journalism field. I was an Event Specialist for the City of Dublin, Ohio. I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades and I was responsible for all sorts of odds and ends. As an Event Specialist, this included writing, editing and designing marketing material, to brainstorming Dublin Irish Festival 30th Anniversary ideas, to even serving up new fun SnapChat filters that fit the city's brand and culture. Having previous experience as a journalist, graphic designer, social media specialist and communication coordinator has helped me form the strong and diverse background I am proud of today.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and please continue to look around and get to know me.
